The Episcopal Church is the American version of the Church of England. Although distinctly American (organized about the time the country was formed), the Episcopal Church is self-governing but retains its spiritual link with the Church of England. That means that we have traditional teachings and ways of worship, looking to the most ancient traditions of the Christian faith.
We believe that we represent the best of both Protestant and Catholic tradition. We celebrate the Holy Eucharist, also called Holy Communion or the Lord’s Supper, as part of the worship service every Sunday. The sacraments and sacramental rites are signs and symbols of some of God’s most crucial gifts. They bring the love and grace of God into our lives.
